SEM- III

The aim of the subject is to design spaces where multiple activities are taking place. The main project for this semester includes designing a residence taking into consideration the personal and professional requirements of all family members.

This subject discusses the role and importance of furniture in an interior space and design furniture according to anthropometry and ergonomic data. Students will learn to apply the hardware and various construction techniques to design furniture made from wood and wood derivatives.

This subject exposes the students to various advanced materials, their characteristics, and the various techniques of using them. Students will discuss the uses, applications, and market research of various materials and their construction techniques. Make working drawings for various types of interior construction will be an essential part of this subject.
In this subject, students will learn the role and importance of services in an interior space. They will discuss the various types of services that are required in a building to make it liveable.
This subject exposes the students to the relationship between the natural and built environments. The various climatic factors and their effects on interior elements that affect human comfort.

SEM-IV

This design studio introduces students to the concepts of designing residential spaces. Students will learn how to conceptualize design and execute it using various techniques. Space planning, defining finishes and materials for a space as well as making working and presentation drawings will be an integral part of the course.

The aim of this subject is to develop a scientific understanding of furniture, aspects considered in designing it, its joinery and various material & technologies possible. The students will learn how to design furniture using materials other than wood.

This subject focuses on the various types of hardware used in interior construction. Students will be exposed to the trends and new materials being used in building construction and draft fixing details of interior construction.
In this subject, students will learn the lighting requirements for an interior space based on location and use. Sources of light in an interior and various types of lighting plans along with their control devices will also be part of the curriculum.
The aim of this subject is to acquaint students with various Climatic factors & their effects on Interior elements which affect human comfort. Effect of climate on human comfort: Definition of Climate/Weather and effects on structure.
